Pregnancy Pause: Using My Bellicon Rebounder

Of all the things I’ve had to pause during this pregnancy, rebounding is one I genuinely miss!
Earlier in my pregnancy, rebounding was honestly a savior. Intense exercise was making me feel worse, and running had started to feel like more stress on my body and nervous system than a support. Bouncing on my bellicon rebounder gave me a way to move that felt gentle, energizing and actually FUN.
That’s what I love about it: it doesn’t feel like a huge workout production. I can put on some music, bounce for a few minutes and be done. It gets my heart rate up and supports cardiovascular fitness, circulation, lymphatic flow, balance, coordination and strength—without needing to leave the house or carve out an hour of my day. It was easily one of my favorite forms of movement during this pregnancy.
But right now, we need my cervix to stay closed, so bouncing has been fully paused. With my history, protecting this pregnancy and keeping this baby safely inside is more important than any workout. Even though rebounding has felt great for my body, it isn’t appropriate or worth the risk.
While I DO miss the energy, the mood boost and the ease of it, this is a season for listening to my body and doing everything I can to give this baby more time. My bellicon rebounder will still be there when I’m ready for it again. 🤍
Here are the things I love about rebounding:
Supports cardiovascular fitness and endurance
Gets blood flowing + supports healthy circulation
Encourages lymphatic movement
Strengthens your legs, glutes and core
Improves balance and coordination
Weight-bearing movement contributes to bone health
A lower-impact alternative to running
Boosts energy and mood
Quick, convenient and easy to do at home
Feels more like play than exercise (which makes it easier to stay consistent!!)
The kids love it, too! A family-shared exercise is unbeatable!!
And bellicon is special. I am a partner now but I did a ton of research and paid for mine, first. Not a ‘gifted-learn-to-love-it’ situation at all!
Bellicon rebounders stood apart for me because it is:
Totally customizable w/ five bungee-strengths
Smoother and gentler on the joints than cheaper rebounders
Sturdy and stable with a weight capacity up to 440 lb
Quieter than ones with springs
Made in Germany and built to last
Different sizes, colors and options lik folding legs and a T-bar
TLDR: I love rebounding, especially on my bellicon. I miss it and can’t wait to get back to it!
